Sugar Society Installation

Ice is melting, tides are rising, the sun will certainly keep on shining… as undrinkable water submerges the spaces once constructed and possessed by humans… what are we going to do? Can we prevent it?

Sugar Society aims to draw attention to the way that our taste for superfluous conveniences is leading to the destruction of our habitat.

This project openly utilises modes of production with negative environmental impacts to highlight the links between our everyday actions and their ugly climatic consequences.

We invite you take part in this event. Can you save our sugar society? What can be done with the available materials to prevent the ice melting and the city dissolving? Don’t just stand there, sugar society needs your help!

Perhaps, in the end, the sugar society is doomed. But what about the rest of us? Are speed and convenience really so important? Is time so precious? Can we sacrifice a little sweetness now to savour our future?

Share your ideas with someone who needs them…
